An Illustrated History of Music for Young Musicians: The Baroque Period
I really enjoyed reading "Lavender Vows," a story of a man searching for a wife only to find the one his heart's set on is already married, and subject to her husband's brutal abuse. For a historical romance novella, it had all the elements of a good story intertwined within - just the right balance between perspectives (the narrative switches between Bernard, the hero and Lady Joanna, the heroine), a rooted conflict, strongly asserted characters, and an HEA.I felt for both Bernard and Joanna's characters, and found the supporting cast to be particularly convincing and charming (in the case of Lady Maris) as well. I think the only caveat is that I wish there were time to take in more of the interactions between the two main characters, though the scenes that are offered provide wonderful display of attraction and affection for each other. I'm looking forward to reading more from Colleen Gleason in the future.
