#BookaDayUK (August) - Days 3 and 4

Chimerascope - Douglas Smith Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 01 - Hiromu Arakawa

My choices for the 3rd and 4th days of the #BookaDay challenge made me think quite a bit, but I think I have something unique to share for both.

Day 3: Best Collection of Short Stories

I can't think of a collection off-hand that's my all time favorite, but I will share one that I really liked. Douglas Smith's "Chimerascope" is one collection I read several years back and I enjoyed it from beginning to end as an array of different stories within speculative fiction from the same author.

Day 4: Best Graphic Novel

I don't know if I can name a single graphic novel as one I consider the best, but the "Fullmetal Alchemist" series comes pretty close, collectively speaking.  I loved Ed and Al's journey through the series.  It's emotionally intense, it's funny, it features wonderfully developed characters, just delivers the whole package as far as I'm concerned, and I'm proud to call it one of my favorite series of all time.  An honorary mention goes to Rose of Versailles and Monster because I had them in the back of my head when penning this post.
